It's nearly the Easter break, and just about every local attraction will be running their own schedule of Easter themed events, especially egg hunts.
For this blog post, we've handpicked 6 ideas for fun activities to take part in, from wild safari tours to calming classical music. The 12th of April saw the easing of restrictions across the country and with staycations back on the cards, we’re delighted to be opening our doors again to conscientious travellers and welcoming you back to Cornwall. We aren’t the only place to be reopening however, and in this post we suggest 6 great places to eat with beer gardens that will be able to serve you outside.
As many of you will be aware, Cornwall has now been placed into Tier 3, and we are legally obliged to comply with the ongoing restrictions.
Consequently, we are restricted in terms of the guests we can accept as this point in time. The government advice is as follows: "Accommodation such as hotels, B&Bs, campsites, holiday lets and guest houses must close. These premises can only open for a person, who:
Additionally, Tier 3 residents are advised that they should not travel outside their area. If you would like to make a booking and you believe that one of the exceptions above applies to you, then please contact us to discuss your situation. We are also welcoming bookings for later on in the year, regardless of the Tier that you live in. Such bookings are accepted with a view to reassessing the booking closer to the time, once guidance has been clarified. Rest assured, we offer very flexible cancellation and postponement options for anyone whose holiday cannot proceed as planned due to COVID-19 restrictions. Previously, we have found that once restrictions are eased, there is a rush of interest and inevitably some guests are left disappointed when their dates are already booked. With this in mind, we encourage guests to make tentative reservations in advance in the knowledge that we will refund or rearrange any booking that cannot proceed. We wish you a very Happy New Year, and we very much look forward to seeing you when it is safe and legal to do so. Take care of yourselves. The government announcement means that we cannot accept bookings between November 5th and December 2nd 2020.

It's finally approaching - 4th of July! We really can't wait to welcome guests back to Tamar Valley Cottages. Needless to say, you will notice a few changes. In this post, we offer 6 tips for making the most of your first holiday post-lockdown.
Following the government's guidance, we are delighted to confirm that we are planning to open from Saturday 4th July 2020
Needless to say, we are going to exhaustive measures to ensure that our hygiene procedures are thorough and consistent, and we are closely following all relevant directives from the government. There is nothing more important to us than your safety, and we will be providing further details to all guests who stay with us.
This means that we are accepting bookings for breaks taking place from 4th July 2020 onwards. If anything should change, we are offering all guests a money-back guarantee, plus the option to move to other available dates where necessary. We simply cannot wait to welcome our guests back to our corner of Cornwall. Restaurants, pubs and other attractions are beginning to open with precautions in place, and the wonderful landscapes of Cornwall are just as beautiful. We hope to see you all again soon! Stay safe. David, Rachel, Charlotte, Timmy, Jago, and Hunter.
Further to the recent government announcements, the Team at Tamar Valley Cottages just wanted to let you know our plan of action to combat the spread of Coronavirus.
The Government have passed legislation that requires all Holiday Accommodation to close for the time being. This is being enforced by Cornwall Council and is subject to inspection. At Tamar Valley Cottages we are lucky enough to be in a fairly rural isolated location and as such, we hope that this will assist us in keeping free from Coronavirus. We have always had a rigorous policy of maintaining our cottages spotlessly clean and fully sanitised before and after each booking. This continues to be our top priority. The safety and health of our Guests is our number one priority. Therefore, when we reopen, in addition to our normal cleaning, we will be following the current NHS Guidelines and ensuring that we adhere to their advice on preventing the spread of any germs. I hope that this will give you full confidence that when you do come and stay with us, you will be doing so in a safe environment. We are missing you all dreadfully and are longing for the time that you can come and stay with us again. The minute we are allowed to, all our cottages will be reopened in anticipation of your arrival. In the meantime our thoughts are with you during this awful period. We hope that you remain safe and that we can welcome at Tamar Valley Cottages very soon. With best wishes, David Wright and the Team What an amazing array of activities this February half-term.
