Recently, two national newspapers have chosen their favourite beaches in the country and happily, they are on the North Cornish coast. However, they’re about as different as they could be. Here are our thoughts on their choices, and how to choose the right beach for you.
May 2017 - Once again, the South-West has excelled itself in 2017's Blue Flag awards, with nearly 1 in 5 of the nation's cleanest beaches being located in the region. Cornwall and Devon alone account for 18 of the awards but it's not just about clean water - Blue Flags are only awarded to beaches with the highest standards of water quality, safety, and beach facilities. Local visitor attractions always put on their own events for the school holidays, but May half-term promises to be fantastic this year, with over a dozen events due to take place in the region.
